As an aspiring actor and\/or model, you should be following other successful professionals in the industry to find inspiration and see how these people are finding success. You should be aware of any movements that are happening (ex. #MeToo) and which films\/television shows are the most successful. The easiest and quickest way to see this information is online. You do not want to be out of the loop on anything.<\/p>\n

To connect with peers and professionals in industry<\/h5>\n

A lot of networking happens online now and social media makes it so easy. Follow your peers, comment on posts, share posts from people you find interesting. Make yourself visible to others online. This may lead to an important contact such as a casting director noticing you or simply growing your following.<\/p>\n

Its an extension of your portfolio<\/h5>\n

Sometimes an actor or models portfolios or demos simply cannot showcase all of your talents. Utilize your social media channels by uploading additional photos or videos that showcase your talent. Promote yourself and brand yourself whenever possible. If a casting director looks you up, they will see more of your work and hopefully be impressed.<\/p>\n

Building a following and gaining influence<\/h5>\n

By creating content that others want to see, you will gain a following and begin having influence over that following. This is how “social media influencers” make their living. Casting agents like to work with people with large followings because that means you will be able to promote the film\/show\/etc. to your followers. This business is all about numbers, and if you have them you are potentially one step closer to landing the role!<\/p>\n
