The warm summer weather is in full force!  Whether you\u2019re going on vacation or simply enjoying the summer rays of Ontario, it\u2019s important to be aware of the heat!<\/p>\n

The sun can be extremely damaging to your skin and hair.  Being in the talent industry, it\u2019s important to be hyper aware of the suns effects.<\/p>\n

Here are some tips to deal with the heat:<\/p>\n

DONT skimp on SPF!<\/strong>
You need about two palm-size portions to protect your whole body.<\/p>\n

DONT leave your hat at home.<\/strong>
Keep cool in the heat by throwing on a hat! A 3-inch brim increases the protection you get from sunscreen alone!<\/p>\n

DO take an indoor lunch break.<\/strong>
Duck into the AC for an iced mocha break with friends from 11 am\u20131 pm! (Thats when the suns rays are the worst.)<\/p>\n

DO decode the SPF labels.<\/strong>
Theres a lot written on a sunscreen bottle. Look for an SPF with the term “broad spectrum protection,” which means it protects against the suns most damaging UVA and UVB rays.<\/p>\n

DO find shade.<\/strong>
Theres no shame in picking a spot under the umbrella! It reduces the risk of burning, and friends will come hang out on your towel when theyre looking for a place to cool down.<\/p>\n

DONT leave home without your SPF lip gloss!<\/strong>
The skin on your lips is extra fragile, so the more you reapply, the more that glossy layer is working to protect your lips from burning and peeling!<\/p>\n

DO invest in quality shades. <\/strong>
Protect your eyes with UV-reflecting sunglasses as you people-watch poolside!<\/p>\n

Its important to enjoy this beautiful weather, however, put yourself first!  Take care of your health and looks by following these steps.  Remember, its important to look and feel yourself before attending any auditions, etc! <\/p>\n
