A pic aimed ever-so-slightly upward makes for long lines\u2014hello, legs!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But she poses for a lot of portraits, too, and says that the best angles for your bod aren\u2019t always the same for your face. \u201cI find that taking a face shot from above gives the angles of my face more definition,\u201d Thaler says. To master this, snap away! It\u2019s all about finding that sweet spot and having&nbsp;<em>lots<\/em>&nbsp;of options.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI actually have a Pinterest board called \u2018Insta Inspo\u2019 where I pin pictures that I would love to have on my feed,\u201d Thaler admits. \u201cHaving a set intention usually makes for a much more successful shoot\u2014I already know what poses and mood to aim for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the best poses aren\u2019t really poses at all, but actions caught in the perfect moment,\u201d Thaler explains. \u201cTake advantage of that and snap a burst.\u201d See? Back to bursts. \u201cA picture with movement is always more interesting and fun to take\u2026and fun to look at,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maxagency.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/images.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-16418\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maxagency.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/images.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.maxagency.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/images.jpg 275w, https:\/\/blog.maxagency.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/images-90x60.jpg 90w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/isabellacarrr\">Isabella Carr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Carr tells us to \u201calways turn your face toward the light, especially if it\u2019s natural sunlight. This brightens your face and makes you glow, which kind of results in your blemishes being blurred away!\u201d (And let\u2019s be real\u2014if there\u2019s one thing we\u2019d like to achieve with our closeup, it\u2019s to look blemish-free.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNever, never, never slouch!\u201d Carr instructs. \u201cIt makes you look insecure and frumpy, and your belly will&nbsp;<em>not<\/em>&nbsp;look its best if you\u2019re wearing a crop top. Always stand up straight. You will look confident, happy and all-around more beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carr reminds us that one of the keys to looking fab in photos is to make yourself appear elongated. \u201cYou can do this by standing on your tiptoes or by sticking a leg out when taking your full-body picture,\u201d she suggests.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maxagency.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-16417\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maxagency.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2-300x162.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"433\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.maxagency.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2-300x162.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.maxagency.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2-768x416.png 768w, https:\/\/blog.maxagency.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2-111x60.png 111w, https:\/\/blog.maxagency.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2.png 940w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 433px) 100vw, 433px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/theglowedit\/\">Kate Rooney<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rooney knows that the best way to look calm, cool and collected in your photos is to&nbsp;<em>actually<\/em>&nbsp;be calm, cool and collected. \u201cRelax your body\u2014your eyes, too. If you\u2019re uptight and stressing, you\u2019re not going to get the shot, and your body is going to emulate that,\u201d Rooney says.<\/p>\n<p data-skm-boomerang-el-4=\"processed\">Rooney says one of the most important things to consider before shooting is what you\u2019re going to wear. \u201cSome outfits just don\u2019t translate well on camera,\u201d Rooney explains. \u201cWear colors and styles you&nbsp;<em>know<\/em>look good in photos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-skm-boomerang-el-4=\"processed\">OK, this one\u2019s a little tricky, but basically, greasy products make for shiny foreheads\u2014and shiny foreheads cause your camera\u2019s flash to bounce off your face instead of lighting it up, Rooney says. This isn\u2019t a huge deal during the day (you know, when you\u2019re not using flash). Crombie gets it, and her recommendation is to take \u201cbursts\u201d on your iPhone, instead.<\/p>\n<p>To do so, simply ask your cameraperson to hold down the button instead of tapping it once. The result is, like, a gazillion photos that capture every single little movement you make in front of the camera. Afterward, you can choose the best ones. (Side note: This is&nbsp;<em>great<\/em>&nbsp;for when your \u201cphotographer\u201d is actually just your impatient BF.)<\/p>\n<div id=\"snyla0l8q8n\" data-google-query-id=\"CL34_KHp2uMCFRLawAodCLsDTg\">\u201cIf you have one,\u201d Crombie says. Some people are equally beautiful on both sides! But there are tons of us who feel more confident facing one way or the other.
