This week we will be featuring the beautiful twins Raquel & Filipa P.!
An introduction to Raquel & Filipa:
Raquel: “Hi, my name is Raquel. I am 26 years old and I’m an early childhood educator. I was born in Portugal and moved to Canada when I was 3 years old.”
Filipa: “Hi, my name is Filipa. I am a client coordinator for a real estate firm. Raquel and I are 5 minutes apart, making me the oldest twin! (I get to tease her about this forever)”
Why did you get into modelling/acting?
“Modelling and acting has always been a passion of ours. Ever since we were little we participated in church plays, school plays and always took drama classes whenever we had the opportunity. People would always tell us “the camera loves you two”.”
How has your experience with MAX been so far?
“Our experience with Max has been great so far. We’ve had a couple auditions, which have been a great experience for us. We really enjoyed the acting classes provided by Max Agency, we felt like it definitely encouraged us to be more confident in front of the camera and people. We are really excited to see what’s in store for us!”
What do you like to do in your spare time?
“You will usually find us at a coffee shop, or reading a really good book that we can’t put down. On other days we like to keep active, playing soccer, going for a jog, dancing or getting in a nice workout at the gym.”
What is your dream role?
“Our dream role would be being stars in a movie or show. We would love to have our own movie/show series one day.”
What’s it like being twins?
“Crazy. The good kinda crazy though, if that makes sense haha. It’s a roller-coaster of thinking alike, saying the same things at the same time, switching classes and fooling our parents.
It’s amazing growing up with someone who not only looks EXACTLY like you but also has the same interests as you. It’s the greatest feeling knowing that your best friend is literally your other half. It’s quite funny at times when we’re just out for a walk, at the mall or simply at a restaurant enjoying a meal, people are constantly staring at us like we’re not from this world…until they approach us and ask “are you ladies twins”? Haha this is the most frequent question we get asked all the time. We love being twins, we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
What’s the best advice for someone getting into the industry?
“The best advice that we can give is every time you walk into an audition be confident, be positive and believe in yourself because if you don’t believe in yourself no one else will. Take in all the experience you get from your auditions and don’t feel discouraged if you don’t get the part. We’ve learnt that each audition is a stepping stone to prepare us for future opportunities.”
