MAXs talent spotlight is for Temperance B.

Temperance was born in Cobourg, Ontario with Hungarian heritage on her fathers side. She was a creative little girl with a colorful personality who would write and create stories. She would do short skits with her familys video camera every Christmas.

Temperance attended Durham College where she studied journalism and office administration. While living in Durham with her grandmother at the time, she entered the Miss Budapest contest at the local Hungarian Pavilion in Oshawa and was runner-up. 

Temperance suffers from reflex sympathetic dystrophy RSD also known as complex regional pain syndrome and has been doing lidocaine IV treatments regularly to manage the pain. This has allowed her to get back to an active lifestyle and she chose to continue doing gymnastics and martial arts.

Having found this second chance, she is now living life fully taking on projects, and has started a daily vlog called Raw and Real with Temperance. She has also begun Temperance Warrior, a supportive community for women focused on fitness and spirituality.

MAX: What is the best advice that you have received about getting into the industry?
 
Temperance: “The best advice I have received is to absolutely own your authenticity. Never be apologetic for who you are. Stand your ground

This weeks Talent Spotlight is MAX Toronto talent, Adam R.

Adam got involved with entertainment since his first school play in Grade 3. He was the lead, and his aunt was the only one who was able to see it. Her rave review of his performance solidified his aspirations to become an actor. 
 
He went through the Second City Conservatory Program in 2004, then performed stand-up comedy and sketch comedy around the GTA with his old troupe Clambake. He even hosted his own stand-up series on GogecoTV23 in Burlington for one season.

I really started to focus on my acting career in 2015, starting off volunteering in film school projects and an episode of Paranormal Survivor, eventually getting my first commercial for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese after my first audition. My friend saw it play in a movie theatre in LA. If you’ve ever seen the commercial where the dad jumps into a bounce castle and it deflates on him? That’s me! I dislocated my shoulder on the first attempt and didn’t tell anybody. Popped it back in myself. I am a professional! 😉
 
Since then, Adam has been in commercials for Reese’s, American Express, and Labatt, corporate videos for Home Depot and CNN, and voice work for CBC Kids and Nickelbrook Brewery.

A few years ago, Adam returned to school at 39 years old, and last year graduated from Sheridan College with a diploma in Visual and Creative Arts.
 
I have always been interested in animation, and have been learning to create my own cartoons online. I hope to one day be a consistently working actor. If I can make a sustaining career out of doing what I love, I would be thrilled. Being on set, working things out, and making the crew laugh is home to me.
 
In my spare time I love to cook! I cure and smoke my own bacon, brine entire chickens with exciting and experimental recipes, and make a pulled pork so coveted by my family they get mad when I don’t give them any!

MAX Talent Spotlight, Prachi S.

Born in Kenya, Africa, Prachi moved to Canada with her family when she was 2 years old. Now 21 years old, she is currently studying for her BSc Honours in Computer Science.

Prachi enjoys taking part in different activities at school, which has helped her gain confidence over the years. She has danced at her schools talent show, modeled in her high school fashion show and played sports. She was a part of her colleges varsity team.

Prachi about a few things that she enjoys:

I started to love dancing because it started to create this bond between me and my sister, that I am forever grateful for. Every time that we dance together, it is the best time I spend with her.

I learned to swim at an older age (16 years) and I instantly fell in love with it. I took my first dive off of a cliff in Montanas, USA and now I can’t wait to do it again.

Making TikToks and playing sports help me boost my confidence in different ways. Tiktoks helps me love my facial appearance, it’s a different thing that I don’t post any yet but eventually will get there.

Sports changed my energy and physical body, which helped me to love it. I have many goals, I want to eventually act in a Netflix series or even work in a movie when and if it is ever a possibility. I am willing to take all necessary steps to achieve that goal and as for my BSc degree, my goal is to reach Apple and work for them.
