Holiday Gift Ideas for the Actor or Model In Your Life (All Ages)

No matter how much or little experience an actor has, it never hurts to attend classes every once and a while to refresh yourself. Whether they are acting based books or just on the best-seller list, books are a great gift for the auditioning actors or models for their wait times! Sometimes audition waits can be quick and other times you can be waiting for a while so having a book to pass the time is great. Reading also helps pass the time while commuting on public transit from studio to studio. For drivers, ebooks are always an option too!

Beauty products

You truly cant go wrong with gifting any sort of beauty products to an actor or model. A big part of their job is looking good for auditions or shoots so any help you can provide with that would be much appreciated. Keep in mind that models must stay looking natural for auditions so perhaps opt for the skin moisturizer over the rainbow coloured palette.

On the simpler side, you can always buy an acting or modeling themed shirt, bag, mug, etc. This is a fun and practical gift that any performer could appreciate as they probably love to represent their craft in any way they can. Smart Phone Tripod

Filming self-tapes is a common occurrence in an auditioning actors life and not everyone has or needs a professional camera set up. With the advancements of smartphones, talent can film on their phones and send to their agent quite efficiently. However, what would make the filming process that much easier would be having a tripod to ensure the quality of the self-tape is the best it could be and saving them from having to make one out of the books on their coffee table. Theatre/Movie Tickets

If someones an actor, odds are they enjoy watching others act as well! A gift card to the movies can always be useful or tickets to a play! This will allow the actor in your life to appreciate their craft and get inspired. There are always great films and plays that come out around the holidays so take your pick based on their personal preferences!

Board Games

Any games that encourage acting or improvising and allow them to practice their skills while also having fun would be the perfect gift! Games could include Charades, Murder Mystery Roleplaying, Reverse Charades, Spontuneous, etc.! These are great ideas for children as well as adults.

Gym Membership/Gift Certificate

Helping out with someones gym membership could possibly come off as rude, however any performer would be sure to appreciate it as they try to stay looking as good as they did in their most recent head shots! Actors and models especially want to stay looking fit so even work out gear or a new set of headphones for working out would definitely come in handy!

Max Talent Has a Blast on Air Canada Shoot!

Max Agency is a successful model and talent management agency in Canada, representing men, women and children.

One of Maxs talents Aisa S. recently had an exciting opportunity to go to Montreal for a photoshoot with Air Canada. Check out what she had to say about the experience below!

“On December 10th and 11th, I had the privilege of working with Air Canada for their annual photoshoot, and had a wonderful time with their production team as well as other talents and models. I was admittedly nervous as I landed this job through my first audition ever, but MAX Agency and Air Canada’s production team supported me throughout and made sure I was all ready for the shoot. The production team flew me into Montreal, booked me a hotel, and I spent two days at the Air Canada Hangar where they did their shoot.

I was nervous on the first day of the photoshoot, but the other models and talents who flew in from all across Canada were so friendly that I was able to befriend them almost instantaneously. We spent two whole days hanging out at the waiting lounge, eating delicious food that was provided, and being on set together. They took photos of us inside a new aircraft, and specifically of me sleeping, interacting with the flight attendants, and relaxing in both business and economy class.

On the second day of the shoot, I became a “mom” to a young model for their family shoot, which was a unique experience. The hair & makeup team, producers, and photographers were also very nice, and they helped me feel relaxed on set. I had so much fun with everyone! All of us models became so close during the shoot that we would hangout at the hotel bar after each day, and we exchanged numbers at the end of the shoot so we can keep in touch.

Overall, it turned out to be a wonderful experience I will never forget. Thank you to MAX Agency and Air Canada for this great opportunity!”

#TipTuesday: Give Yourself Extra Time Commuting to Auditions in Winter

#TipTuesday is a series Max Agency — one of the top Toronto modeling agencies  — will be doing every week where we share helpful tips for the industry! This could be tips on auditions, bookings, beauty, fashion and more!

This week’s tip is: Please give yourself extra time commuting to auditions in the winter.

Year round it is important to show up on time for auditions to ensure you make the best impression for yourself and your agency. However in winter, commute times can easily double so you need to make sure youre giving yourself enough time to safely reach your destination. Despite the winter weather, casting directors still expect you to show up on time so they can stay on schedule.
