In honor of Chiari Awareness Month our feature of the month goes out to, Steven Spice, MAXs own 6 year old little fighter.
Through the help a doctor at Sick Kids Hospital, who has changed his life for the better. Steven was able to find out his condition and go through a decompression surgery which he then after had to stay in the hospital for a week and go through physiotherapy at such a young age.
He was recently diagnosed with Chiari Malformation Type 1, which is a rare brain disorder that effects 0.1% of the world population. Chiari Malformation is when your brain is bigger than your skull, which causes pressure build up into the spinal cord. It is actually, very hard to diagnose, as the only way to diagnose this disorder is through the use of MRI scans.
Please help this cause and help Steven Spice reach his fund raising goals as he would like to start a foundation in hopes that no little boy or girl will go un-diagnosed again.
