Elly C – Showcase Saturday – Toronto Kids Modeling

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at Max Agency — a successful model and talent management agency in Canada representing men, women and children.

This week we will be featuring the charming and talented, Elly C!

An introduction to Elly:

“My background is Irish , English and Scottish. I was raised in Ottawa but currently living in Toronto.”

How she got into acting/modelling:

“From a very young age I have always loved to act and play different characters. Ive always come up with creative story lines and even created my own personas that I love to act out. I truly enjoy the memorization process and becoming other personalities and characters. So becoming an actress was a natural and easy
decision.”

Favourite memory from an audition or set?

“My favourite audition was for a short film. It was my favourite because I got to show lots of emotion and act out two scenes, giving me more lines to read and more acting to do. The more lines the better.”

Favourite things to do in spare time:

“I like to create from board games, to Lego worlds, drawings, books, music and more. I love to spend time reading and writing. I also enjoy singing ,play violin as well as playing imaginary and training for gymnastics.”

Fun facts about Elly:

-“My role model is Jim Carry , I would love to meet him one day!
-I often compose and write lyrics to songs I play on the violin.
-Last season I had a 6.0 batting average in soft ball.
-Ive completed 2 spartan races (obstacle races) and plan to do more.”

Final thoughts:

“I know I will make it as an actress due to my love, passion and ability. Im just waiting for my big break! :)”

Trey S – Showcase Saturday!

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at Max Agency — a successful model and talent management agency in Canada representing men, women and children.

This week we will be featuring the hardworking and stylish, Trey S.!

An introduction to Trey:

“My name is Trey and I am 25 years old. I have been modeling for about 5 years now. I am currently represented by Max Agency. My parents are from the island (Caribbean), I am trilingual. I modeled in New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. I have worked with lots of great designers in the industry.”

How he got into modelling/acting?

“I’ve always wanting to be a model/actor. I love fashion and TV scenery and always dreamed about being a top model. It all started in New York City. I signed with an agency and booked my first job which encouraged and boosted my motivation to be in the industry.”

Why Max Agency?

“Max has been in the model management business for a very long time and the agents know the business really well. They are very knowledgeable and their clients trust in them because their models always deliver . So I chose Max, because I know with my talent and eagerness to work I will achieve a lot of goals signing with Max.”

Favourite experience with Max?

“My experience with Max so far as been really great ..I love my new agent Michelle, she is very responsive and very warm welcoming.”

Favourite things to do in spare time?

“I love to do fun stuff … Fashion is life! So I love shopping , watching movies, doing things outdoors and modeling . I love basketball, and have a strong passion for fashion.”

Best advice for someone entering the industry:

“Best advice I can give someone who’s looking to start a career in modeling would be:

1) Be patient

Not everything come easy you have to work very hard to be where you need to be. Modeling may look easy but in reality its really not. You don’t just wake up and be a model, you have to actually be very prepared and willing to learn the industry. And the only way to do that is to have an agency as great as Max to help you and guide you throughout your journey.

2) ON TIME

Be on time for auditions. In this industry, there is no such thing as
being too early! It either youre on time or youre late and if youre late it doesn’t look good on the agency.

3) When you first start be ready to invest in your career journey for comp card and the network .
4) Last but not least, you will get a lot of NO’s.

Don’t be discouraged! Keep doing your best to improve yourself and perfecting your craft then you will get that one YES that will open up a door for you in this industry. Dont take nothing personal.”

Top 5 Tips To Survive Going Back to School

Its almost that time of year again…Back to School!

Here are Max Agencys Top 5 Tips for Surviving the Back to School process!

1. Have a positive attitude

Heading into something new or scary with a good attitude will automatically make it a more positive experience. In other words, by having a positive outlook on things, more positivity will be attracted to you. For example, always walk the halls with your head up high and a smile on your face. That will attract more people to talk to you. Have an open mind during your classes so you are more likely to learn something. Having a negative attitude will only bring negative results.

2. Get involved

Getting involved in clubs and teams is always a great way to make friends and have a good time. In most high schools, there are clubs available for students with all sorts of interests such as drama, band, student government, dance, etc.! Not only is this great for your social life but it could also impact your future. Having experience in a club or on a sports team could be extremely beneficial if you wish to pursue a career in an athletic field (sports team), as an actor (drama club), in politics (student government), etc.

3. Keep an agenda/planner

In order to organize your time as best as you can while juggling your studies and extra curricular activities, an agenda or planner is a must! This is a tool to keep track of when assignments are due or when you have practice after school. Its also a place to make to-do lists where you can check each item off that youve accomplished. To develop a healthy routine and resist the urge to procrastinate, invest in a cute notebook that you dont mind carrying around with you all the time!

4. Be prepared with school supplies

To cause less stress on the first day back, go shopping ahead of time to get all the supplies you need. You know what classes you have therefore you know what youll need whether its a ruler, protractor, coloured pencils or calculator. Remember you might want to get a different binder for each class to keep your notes organized. Having the necessary supplies on the first day erases some of the stress and allows you to focus on everything else that youre nervous about!

5. Find your people

While there may be pressure to get in with the “popular kids”, its very important to find your own set of friends who you truly get along with. Dont force yourself to spend time with certain people just because you feel like you should to “be cool.” Hang out with people who have the same interests and values as you, who you enjoy spending time with. And if you are having trouble finding those people, dont fret. Elementary and high school are not the end of the world so if you havent found your forever group of friends quite yet, thats completely okay!
