Showcase Saturday – Kingston A!

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at Max Agency —  a successful Toronto talent agency representing men, women and children.

This week we will be featuring the smart and talented Kingston A!

An introduction to Kingston:

“My name is Kingston a.k.a King 👑 I am 9 years old, tall, quiet yet funny and smart. I live in Toronto and attend a sport and wellness academy, which I love. I am Canadian and Trinidadian.”

How did you get into modeling/acting?

“My mom submitted me and my younger brother. We went for an interview and were accepted into the agency. My older brother has since joined the agency too.”

How has your experience been with Max so far?

“Great! My favourite shoot was for project popcorn! It was my first booking and I got a lot of great feedback. I also really liked the actor playing my mom, we got along really well. Eating popcorn and chocolate is never a bad gig!”

What do you like to do in your spare time?

“I like to hang out with my brothers and friends, play sports, dance and of course play Fortnite!”

What is your dream role?

“I would really like to be cast in a TV show or movie. #goals #2019”

What is the best advice youve received in the industry?

“The best feedback I got was that I take direction really well. I would say that paying close attention to what you are being asked to do is key to success in this industry.”

Showcase Saturday – Raquel and Filipa P!

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at Max Agency —  a successful Toronto talent agency representing men, women and children.

This week we will be featuring the beautiful twins Raquel & Filipa P.!

An introduction to Raquel & Filipa:

Raquel: “Hi, my name is Raquel. I am 26 years old and I’m an early childhood educator. I was born in Portugal and moved to Canada when I was 3 years old.”

Filipa: “Hi, my name is Filipa. I am a client coordinator for a real estate firm. Raquel and I are 5 minutes apart, making me the oldest twin! (I get to tease her about this forever)”

Why did you get into modelling/acting?

“Modelling and acting has always been a passion of ours. Ever since we were little we participated in church plays, school plays and always took drama classes whenever we had the opportunity. People would always tell us “the camera loves you two”.”

How has your experience with MAX been so far?

“Our experience with Max has been great so far. We’ve had a couple auditions, which have been a great experience for us. We really enjoyed the acting classes provided by Max Agency, we felt like it definitely encouraged us to be more confident in front of the camera and people. We are really excited to see what’s in store for us!”

What do you like to do in your spare time?

“You will usually find us at a coffee shop, or reading a really good book that we can’t put down. On other days we like to keep active, playing soccer, going for a jog, dancing or getting in a nice workout at the gym.”

What is your dream role?

“Our dream role would be being stars in a movie or show. We would love to have our own movie/show series one day.”

What’s it like being twins?

“Crazy. The good kinda crazy though, if that makes sense haha. It’s a roller-coaster of thinking alike, saying the same things at the same time, switching classes and fooling our parents.
It’s amazing growing up with someone who not only looks EXACTLY like you but also has the same interests as you. It’s the greatest feeling knowing that your best friend is literally your other half. It’s quite funny at times when we’re just out for a walk, at the mall or simply at a restaurant enjoying a meal, people are constantly staring at us like we’re not from this world…until they approach us and ask “are you ladies twins”? Haha this is the most frequent question we get asked all the time. We love being twins, we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

What’s the best advice for someone getting into the industry?

“The best advice that we can give is every time you walk into an audition be confident, be positive and believe in yourself because if you don’t believe in yourself no one else will. Take in all the experience you get from your auditions and don’t feel discouraged if you don’t get the part. We’ve learnt that each audition is a stepping stone to prepare us for future opportunities.”

Showcase Saturday – Ron N!

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at Max Agency —  a successful Toronto acting agency representing men, women and children.

This week we will be featuring the kind and wise: Ron N.!

An introduction to Ron:

“I grew up in southwestern Ontario (Letterkenny country) of Irish, English, German heritage. I completed an undergraduate Honours B.Sc. in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo and an MBA from McMaster University and in mid career completed my CPA-CMA. After a successful career as a healthcare executive, I currently run my consulting company focusing on contract management in senior
healthcare leadership roles.”

Why did you want to get into acting/modeling?

“I got into modelling through my daughter who applied at Max and when I took her to the interview I was asked to apply. I have always wanted to pursue and develop my creative skills and this has provided that avenue.”

How has your experience been with MAX so far?

“I have yet to get an opportunity to audition given my recent
arrival to the agency. I enjoyed the courses provided by Max through Andrew Bee and was blown away by the inherent talent people presented with as well as the essentials electronic media plays in connecting people to the industry.”

How do you spend your spare time?

“I enjoy staying active with a regular fitness routine, playing hockey, skiing, hiking, biking, and pursuing new activities to explore their fit. (This spring it will be rowing). I enjoy spending time with family, my teenage daughters and mentoring individuals in the health sector as they pursue their calling.”

-What is your dream role?

“My dream role would be a philosopher/elder in a sit com
passing every day wisdom onto the audience.”

Best advice for someone looking to get into the industry? Or best advice youve received?

“Live with humility and integrity and enjoy lifes journey. Draw on your life experiences to be in the moment when portraying the role youre assigned.”

Any other interesting facts about you?

“I have a multicultural family. My wife is Japanese, my daughters are Chinese, our dog Molly is a labra-doodle and I am a Heinz 57 (Irish, English, Welsh, German, Dutch, +?)”
