With Fall upon us, Max Agency decided to put together a list of some of the most fun activities to do this autumn in and around Toronto!
Toronto Oktoberfest (September 27-29)
Torontos Oktoberfest may be held at Ontario Place but youll feel like youre in Germany during the festivities! This 3 day festival will be taking place under a huge Festhalle tent. There will be authentic food, beer, music, contests and more!
ROM Friday Night Live
Another season of Friday Night Live has officially launched and will be running every Friday until November 23rd. Taking place at the ROM, there will be a dance party with DJs and live performances. Or you can explore the galleries with tasty food and drinks provided with your ticket! There are different themes each week so you can keep coming back.
Sports Games (NHL & NBA)
If youre a sports fan, then attend some games this fall and cheer on our local Toronto teams! The Toronto Maple Leafs game schedule is up and the Toronto Raptors have announced theirs as well! If you cant make it in person to the games then at least tune in from home and have a relaxing night in!
Start Up Fashion Week Toronto
SFW Toronto is an event which focuses on fashion, business and technology. It has been known to provide amazing opportunities for new models, entrepreneurs and designers! This event attracts attendees from across Canada by providing educational programs, networking and showcasing opportunities!
International Festival of Authors (October 18-28)
This is an 11 day event taking place at Harbourfront Centre to celebrate the art of literature. This festival is aimed at connecting authors with the readers by holding panels, live readings, interviews and other interactive activities! See if your favourite author is attending or if theres an event that interests you!
Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA)
The MOCA recently moved from their space on Queen St. W to a larger space in Torontos Junction Triangle in order to expand. Nevertheless, it is continues to showcase the most innovative contemporary art and cultural practices. It is a place for artists to display relevant themes and topics in todays world to create a community. Drop by and witness the art that is telling the stories of today!
Museum of Illusions
The first Museum of Illusions will be opening in Canada as of October 2018. It will trick, amaze and confuse you along with educating you about perception and the human brain. A great place to visit for friends and families of all ages.
World Press Photo Exhibit
This world renowned photo exhibit showcases photos that tell meaningful stories from all around the world. They present stories with different perspectives in order to educate the pubic and encourage debates or discussions. It will be available to visit throughout October at Brookfield Place.
Toronto Soup Festival
This two day festival showcases the best soups in Toronto! If you attend youll get to experience gourmet soups, baked goods, live entertainment and hot drinks. Not to mention on sight demonstrations from Ontarios top chefs!
Cask Days 2018
Cask Days is an annual Beer Festival taking place from October 19th-21st. Breweries from across North America gather to show off their creations, sometimes creating specialties made exclusively for the event! Not only is there beer, but food vendors, musical performances and art as well to complete the festival experience!
Haunted Market
Visit Torontos Haunted Market on October 6th to start getting into the Halloween spirit! There will be many spooky vendors selling arts & crafts, toys, posters, dvds and more! Admission is free so theres no excuse not to attend!
Toronto After Dark Film Festival
The 13th annual film festival showcases the newest and scariest feature films and short films at the Scotiabank Theatre from October 11th-19th. Along with the film screenings, there are Q&As with the filmmakers and post-screening events for mingling with filmmakers and other attendees. The schedule is beginning to role out and tickets are already on sale now!
Annual Pumpkin Parade (Sorauren Park)
Torontos annual Pumpkin Parade takes place November 1st at Sorauren Park. People are encouraged to line up their carved pumpkins around the edge of the park where the parade will take place at dusk. There is no competition for best pumpkin however it is fascinating to see all of the different designs and pick up on any themes for the year!
Legends of Horror (Casa Loma)
Every year, Casa Loma transforms into a haunted house style attraction where you can take a tour throughout the darkest and spookiest areas of the castle. The experience lasts over an hour and includes theatrical elements involving different scenes and actors playing famous Halloween characters!
Night of Dread 2018
This event, presented by Clay and Theatre, is a time to mock and banish your fears through parade and theatrics! First participants parade through Dufferin Grove Park, then are shown a theatrical performance before a number of traditional death related ceremonies take place! It ends with a dance party, music provided by a local Toronto band.
Halloween on Church Street 2018
Attend Canadas biggest annual block party on Halloween night! The Village will be transforming into the biggest Halloween party in Toronto, with special themed events going on throughout the area. So get your costume, some friends and join the action! The Village bars and shops will be open all night.
The Royal Agricultural Fair (November 2-11)
The Royal is the largest combination of an agricultural fair and international equestrian competition in the world, which takes place every November in Toronto. There are many prizes to be won from best food, livestock and horsemanship. Attendees can visit the vendors or watch the Horse Show, featuring Olympian riders.
Hot Docs Podcast Festival 2018
This podcast themed festival is the first of its kind in Canada, bringing the top podcasters to you! You can listen to our favourite podcast live and you even get to see them on stage too. The lineup includes shows such as Criminal, Startup and LeVar Burton Reads LIVE! There will also be a creators forum which includes panels and networking opportunities with leading podcast professionals!
Everything To Do With Sex Show
One of the only non-family friendly things on this list, the Toronto Sex Show is a fun event for all things sex! There will be vendors, live entertainment, educational workshops, fashion shows and more. The goal of the show is aimed at improving lifestyles, personal achievements and inspiring romance. The show runs from November 2nd-4th at the International Centre!
Gourmet Food and Wine Festival
The 24th annual Food and Wine Expo will be taking place at the Metro Toronto Convention centre from November 22-25. Spend a day or maybe the whole weekend treating yourself to gourmet cuisine, wines, craft beers and more! The style of the event resembles a cocktail party so get ready to mix and mingle with your food and drinks.
