This week we will be featuring the adorable and hard working

Zachary G.!

An introduction to Zach:

Zach (age 8 years old) is a happy, athletic Jewish boy – born in Toronto, Canada.

How he got into modelling/acting:

Zach started modelling when he was 6 years old after meeting with Max Agency. Zach landed his first modelling job with Indigo after 3 months of joining their roster. Since then, Zach has done 3 campaigns with Indigo and this sparked his love for the industry.

How his experience has been with MAX:

Zach gets excited when he attends auditions and sets coordinated
by Max Agency. His experience with the auditions and being prepared by Max Agency has been incredible and he is very grateful for the work that he has received since starting.

Zachs favourite moment so far was working his very first modelling shoot with Indigo where he met a lot of great people and had the best first experience with such a professional company shaping his path into the modelling industry.

What Zach likes to do in his spare time:

Zach loves to play soccer. He is part of a competitive soccer team and also has his blue advanced belt in Karate – soon to grade for brown belt. Zach has a serious passion for all sports and anything that involves building. Zach is working on his lifesaving skills course in swimming and will soon be joining a swim team.

Zach also loves hanging out with and walking his dog Mavis. Zach also takes drumming lessons and is often found drumming away practicing his beats.

His dream role:

Zachs dream role is modelling for Abercrombie and Fitch
Kids or doing a movie / show with a dog. Zach would also love to be featured in a karate movie where he can showcase his skills.

Advice he would give to someone entering the industry:

Have fun and be social while on set. When you really enjoy who you are working with – and you get to know the people that you are working with – this can lead to more work for you down the road and it also advances your social skills. Love what you do. It will show in your work.

Final notes:

Since working with Max, Zach has made many new friends and he feels more and more confident with each audition and booked job that he receives.

Showcase Saturday – Taquana & Javielle

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at Max Agency —  a successful Toronto talent agency representing men, women and children.

This week we will be featuring a lovely set of twins: Taquana & Javielle!

An introduction to the girls:

Javielle: I am Javielle and she is Taquana, we are 15 years old. We were born in Jamaica. We moved to Canada 2 years ago, we currently are in grade 10.
Taquana: Totally different weather from Jamaica, but we are adjusting

 

Why did you want to get into modelling/acting?

Javielle: Our mom told us that before we were born she used to model and ever since then we wanted to follow in her footsteps.
Taquana: Yea what she said. And I like the spotlight, perks and the exposure that comes with it. It seems fun!

How has your experience been with Max so far?

Taquana: I did an audition sometime in the summer and it was a really good experience. I was really nervous for it though but overall it was a good experience. We also did the teen acting classes and those also boosted our confidence and gave us an insight of the business. Much to say, we are totally excited!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Javielle: We really like dancing like a lot. We also run track, swim, sing (even though we aren’t good).
Taquana: We also like to volunteer.

What is it like being twins?

Javielle: Its been a really good experience, well the only experience, since I don’t know what its like not being twins. I really enjoy having someone to talk to and laugh with all the time, we have so many unspoken moments where we know what is being said!
Taquana: Sometimes, for a split second, its kinda weird looking at someone who looks just just like you. I remember one day, we were in the dance studio at school and I looked in the mirror and saw Javielle sitting down and I had to do a double take! At that moment I couldnt understand how I looking at myself and I was also seeing myself sitting down!

 

What is your dream role?

Javielle: I would really like to dance in a music video for a big artist and do commercials.
Taquana: I would really like to star in a movie, walk on the runway and do commercials.

What advice would you give someone entering the industry?

Javielle: The best advice I could give to someone is to read their contracts. Read the fine print, ask questions about some of the things in the contract. Make sure you understand what you are signing.
Taquana: I would say just to be confident in yourself and remember that a tiger can’t change their stripes so you shouldn’t change yourself. You can change your mindset, but never who you are.

Max Agency Talent Spotlight, Success Story

Showcase Saturday – Dorrel B!

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at Max Agency —  a successful Toronto talent management agency in Canada representing men, women and children.

This week we will be featuring the hardworking and driven, Dorrel B!

An introduction to Dorrel:

“I am Jamaican by birth but now I am living in Canada, soon to receive my citizenship. Prior to moving to Canada, I have lived in America for several years and for a short while in England. I am a Paralegal and major in business, corporate and immigration law.”

How he got involved in modelling/acting:

“I always thought modelling/acting was for much younger people, like people in their twenties or early thirties. I never thought anyone forty or over would be accepted into the industry, but my wife Arlene and my sister Sharon kept telling me to give it a try. My wife one day jokingly submitted my application to a few modelling agencies and sure enough in less than 30 minutes the phone kept ringing (smile) from a few agencies but I chose Max Agency and the rest is history.”

His experience with MAX so far:

“I must say my experience working with Max has been pretty awesome and wonderful. I have learned so much about the industry through Max and I am very grateful and really appreciate the experience.

I was booked to participate in shooting the Jessie Reyes music video “Body Count”, this was not my first video shoot, but it was “awesome” and remains to date my most memorable experience on a shoot.”

How Dorrel spends his free time:

“I love the outdoors, I mean I am a literal fanatic for wild life, water, trees, visiting parks, hiking, swimming, hitting the gym and going to the movies. I love to read (non-fictions) and very eclectic when it comes to music.”

Best advice for someone starting in the industry?

“I have seen, heard and learned a lot from working in the modelling /acting industry so far and my word of advice to anyone in the business or planning on coming into the business is don’t take anything said or done at auditions or on set personal. Once you have learned to master that art then you are on your way to success.”

Final thoughts:

“You are never too old or too young to discover the wealth of talent and skills that you have. Don’t judge yourself base on race, ethnicity or colour, just believe in yourself and God and just do you…the modelling/ acting world awaits your arrival.”

These are truly wise words from Dorrel! Some of our most successful talent are over 30 or over 50 even! Dont let age scare you from pursuing modelling or acting if that is something you are considering taking up.
