Talent Showcase Saturday – Iann A.

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at MAX Agency —  a successful Toronto acting agency representing men, women and children.

 

This week we’ll be showcasing an extremely talented member of our roster – Iann A! 

 

His Beginnings

I grew up in Montreal. My mom is Québecquoise and my dad is Mexican. When I was 20 I decide to go study acting in Vancouver. Fast forward some years and here I am in Toronto.

 


“How did you get into modelling/acting?”

I kind of decided on a whim to study at Vancouver Film School. It was also a good excuse to move to Vancouver. But I quickly realize that I love it and unfortunately there nothing else I would rather do.


His Experience with MAX Agency

My experience has been pleasant so far. It’s nice to be part of a bigger agency with so many people working together towards a common goal.

Extracurriculars 

With the little spare time I have. I try to stay healthy and in shape. I watch a lot… probably too much tennis. I wish I could play more but all my playing partners moved away. I also read a lot.

His Dream Role

In a drama, for sure! Or a rom-com! And I would want to play the antagonists. Bad guys roles for sure. I just find there is more to do with those types of role. Plus the bad guys always have more fun.



“Best advice for someone looking to get into the industry? or best advice youve received?”

The best advice I received is just to stick with it. There is a lot of rejection in this field. That’s just the way it is, but you can’t take personally. You just have to remember that you’re doing this because there is nothing else you would rather do. If I am not acting I just find something is missing in life.

Tip Tuesday – Hello Sunshine!

#TipTuesday is a series MAX Agency — one of the top Toronto talent agencies  — does every week where we share helpful tips for the industry. This could be tips on auditions, bookings, beauty, fashion and more!

 

The warm summer weather is in full force!  Whether you’re going on vacation or simply enjoying the summer rays of Ontario, it’s important to be aware of the heat!

The sun can be extremely damaging to your skin and hair.  Being in the talent industry, it’s important to be hyper aware of the suns effects.

Here are some tips to deal with the heat:

DONT skimp on SPF!
You need about two palm-size portions to protect your whole body.

DONT leave your hat at home.
Keep cool in the heat by throwing on a hat! A 3-inch brim increases the protection you get from sunscreen alone!

DO take an indoor lunch break.
Duck into the AC for an iced mocha break with friends from 11 am–1 pm! (Thats when the suns rays are the worst.)

DO decode the SPF labels.
Theres a lot written on a sunscreen bottle. Look for an SPF with the term “broad spectrum protection,” which means it protects against the suns most damaging UVA and UVB rays.

DO find shade.
Theres no shame in picking a spot under the umbrella! It reduces the risk of burning, and friends will come hang out on your towel when theyre looking for a place to cool down.

DONT leave home without your SPF lip gloss!
The skin on your lips is extra fragile, so the more you reapply, the more that glossy layer is working to protect your lips from burning and peeling!

DO invest in quality shades. 
Protect your eyes with UV-reflecting sunglasses as you people-watch poolside!

Its important to enjoy this beautiful weather, however, put yourself first!  Take care of your health and looks by following these steps.  Remember, its important to look and feel yourself before attending any auditions, etc!

Talent Showcase Saturday – Sean D.

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at MAX Agency —  a successful Toronto acting agency representing men, women and children.

This week we’ll be showcasing a handsome and kind talent on our roster: Sean D.!

An introduction to Sean:

“My name is Sean Duncan. I’m European and I’m from Windsor, Ontario. I suffer from autism so I moved to different schools quite frequently. I’ve worked as a legal assistant.”

How did you get into modelling/acting?

“I got into acting and modelling by submitting pictures to MAX agency. Dalia was kind enough to invite me for a meeting and the meeting went well and I signed a contract. MAX Agency has been amazing. I’ve had three auditions and my most memorable was Project Silent Witness.“

What do you like to do in your spare time?

“My hobbies are basketball, football and acting. My true passion is acting.”

What advice would you give someone getting into the industry?

“My best advice for someone trying to get into the industry is to contact an agent and practice. Practice makes perfect.“

What would be your dream role?

“I’ve had a rough life because of my autism so my dream role would be to play a troubled bad boy. I’m taller than average with blue eyes and blonde hair so I’d make a great bad boy in the acting industry.”
