Showcase Saturday – Kingston A!

Welcome back to Showcase Saturday here at Max Agency —  a successful Toronto talent agency representing men, women and children.

This week we will be featuring the smart and talented Kingston A!

An introduction to Kingston:

“My name is Kingston a.k.a King 👑 I am 9 years old, tall, quiet yet funny and smart. I live in Toronto and attend a sport and wellness academy, which I love. I am Canadian and Trinidadian.”

How did you get into modeling/acting?

“My mom submitted me and my younger brother. We went for an interview and were accepted into the agency. My older brother has since joined the agency too.”

How has your experience been with Max so far?

“Great! My favourite shoot was for project popcorn! It was my first booking and I got a lot of great feedback. I also really liked the actor playing my mom, we got along really well. Eating popcorn and chocolate is never a bad gig!”

What do you like to do in your spare time?

“I like to hang out with my brothers and friends, play sports, dance and of course play Fortnite!”

What is your dream role?

“I would really like to be cast in a TV show or movie. #goals #2019”

What is the best advice youve received in the industry?

“The best feedback I got was that I take direction really well. I would say that paying close attention to what you are being asked to do is key to success in this industry.”

“Don’t give up! Keep trying. It doesn’t happen right away for everyone. Persevere.”

Do You Know This Fashion Model Trivia? #NationalTriviaDay

To celebrate National Trivia Day, Max Agency decided to put together a list of fun Fashion Model Trivia to test your knowledge on the modelling industry!

Vogue

Lisa Fonssagrives is considered to be the first modern supermodel, flourishing in her career between 1935 to 1950. Lisa moved to Paris to be a dancer and got involved in modeling while there. Eventually she moved to the United States and appeared on fashion magazines such as Vogue.

Guess

Anna Nicole Smiths real name before gaining popularity from appearing in Playboy was Vickie Lynn Hogan. In fact, she used the name Vickie Smith for her first ever centrefold in Playboy before deciding on Anna Nicole Smith a few months after.

Fabio served in the Italian Army for 2 years before becoming a model. He began his career in Italy before moving to the United States and getting signed immediately by an agency.

In 1956, Suzy Parker became the first model to earn $100,000 in a year. During her career she appeared on many magazine covers as well as acting in a number of films and television shows.

Vogue

Jamie Dornan was first discovered on a television show called Model Behaviour. He did not start gaining success right away but eventually got work with Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and more recently became a successful actor as well.

Tyra Banks was in Michael Jacksons music video for Black or White.

Not only did Fabio appear on romance covers, he also wrote them. Fabio would record his stories and then an author would transcribe them.

In addition to modelling, Justin Poortinga is also trained to be an Architect. 

Calvin Klein

Natalia Vodianova is known to have a Cinderella story as she grew up in poverty in Russia. She was discovered while working at her familys fruit stand and became the face for Loreal, finding a much more glamorous life!
